Connect the same three separate cables (the ones you ran individually all the way from the radio's remote location). Double-check to make sure those cables still work -- they can be pretty fragile, (especially when you pull and tug them through the car during installation).
Radio is installed near the antenna. From this location, run the radio's three separate cables individually (one for the microphone, one for the speaker, and one for the control head) under carpet/upholstery.

THE ONLY PRODUCT OF ITS KIND.
SWAPMYRIGS is patented -- the only separation kit that can be used with any radio, as long as it has modular connections. Installation with SMR means you're always plug-and-play ready, giving you the freedom to use any radio anytime, without the hassle of pulling old cables and running new ones, (unless you buy a new vehicle or boat, or buy a new house. With an SMR installation, go from a Yaesu to an Icom to a Kenwood in minutes. SMR kits are particularly helpful at home, when you buy a second radio, or in the shack, when you swap one out for another, or during field day, when you switch out and share other rigs.

THE VGA DIFFERENCE
All VGA cables are NOT created equal, especially those used with computer monitors; most fail to meet basic industry standards. Our VGAs are copper-shielded, built-tough, and stomp-proof, with three coaxial cables and 4 twisted pairs, perfect for isolating audio and digital signals and eliminating crosstalk and interference. Enjoy quality sound whether your radio is 5' or 150' away. With our lifetime guarantee, rest easy knowing our kit, cables and every product we sell will meet and exceed industry specifications. Each kit is individually engineered by AE4S. All VGAs are fully tested for quality and reliability before leaving our warehouse.
STREAMLINED
SETUP
Radio installation is always easier when you run one cable instead of three. SWAPMYRIGS comes in pairs, one by the radio body, and the other at a remote location. Initially, they're configured (jumpered) for your radio with the option to re-jumper for other radios. We include cables to connect SMR box #1 to your rig, microphone, control and audio jacks, and one 15" VGA cable to connect SMR box #1 to SMR box #2. We also sell VGA cables separately in other lengths as needed. When you're ready to swap to another radio, simply switch the jumpers in each SMR box, (our manual shows you how), plug in the new device, and you're on the air.

After struggling to get my Yaesu FTM-400 installed in my old car and then suffering years of problems, I decided to try SwapMyRigs when I bought my new car. As it turned out, not only was the install a piece of cake compared to before, but the issues with the rig went away. Thinking the whole time it was a defective rig, I now realize Yaesu's kit caused all the probles. Once I installed the SMR kit, my rig has worked great ever since. I highly recommend SwapMyRigs to anyone installing a new rig. Not only does it make the process a lot easier running only one cable, but in the end you know your rig will work seamlessly.

I bought the SMR system for both my cars and my Class A, 35’ Recreational Vehicle. The SMR is particularly well-suited in my RV, when I mount the radio in the storage area near the antenna and battery and the controls up front. I've tried SMR with five different radios: Kenwood’s D710 and V71, Icom's IC-2820 and ID-880H, and Yaesu's FTM350. It works great and saves a ton of time during installation, especially if you're like me and enjoy swapping to different rigs. You might find that SMR makes you want to buy more radios;-). Kudos, Dr. J!

SWAPMYRIGS works great. Instead of having to pull multiple wires you can pull a single VGA cable. It also helps to “future-proof"" for future radios as the devices can be reconfigured for newer radios when you change. Purchasing was easy. I was able to select what I needed online and the items shipped quickly. I ended up buying two SWAPMYRIGS kits, one for my pick up, and the other for another car.
